Raef suggested it should convey "a sense of awesomness" given that Megaliths are great big blocks of stone. Not that hadn't occurred to me, rather he phrased it much better than I did in my mind.
Meg suggested that the stars/cosmos/astral entities should also play a part of the interaction between the Megalith and the main character. This might be an idea worth pursuing.
Fiona asked why I had chose megaliths as the main emphasis of my project to which I replied "Because they intrigue me". At this point in time I don't have a better answer, but do I really to elaborate? No doubt there is some underlying psychological reason for being drawn towards them but at present I cannot articulate what they are. I suppose like most things the answer will reveal itself in time.

Outcomes of the test scene
In the first outcome I attempted a photo-real composite of Guy into the landscape I designed.
Unfortunately the footage was too blury to get a good compisite so he's somewhat transparent.
But the test footage need not go to waste... So what if guy became an apparition?
And some cheap lightning is added...
The cheap lightning has given me an idea...

Guy's Silhouette
Guy wanted to see if we could achieve a silhouette so we began experimenting with the lighting...
It didn't quite work because there's still some light falling on his head thus compromising the effect, but its something we can work to improve in the future.

The Moon
Since I want there to be a full moon in the scene I've taken some test footage of the moon taken with my camcorder to see how it would turn out.
Verdict: A bit too grainy. Although when shrunk down to YouTube size the graininess isn't so noticeable.
I don't think my camcorder is up to the job.

Concept Art - A possible setting
Unfortunately I'm not the best drawer, but nevertheless I'll draw anyway to assist in my conceptualisation of a scene for this project.
Here's a megalith I drew standing in a field at night:
I shall attempt to construct a photo realistic video version of this...

Location Photos
Today I did some location scouting for a grassy knoll. Quite possibly I may set this sequence at night in some field with a Megalith in the background so I'm going to do some experments using photo backgrounds.
I want a moon in the night sky so I've taken some images of the moon to use for reference. They're a bit small so I might not end up using them and generating a moon through other means instead.
At one of the locations I stopped at there was a kangaroo half beneath a bush, so I asked it "Are you dead?" and it tilted its head towards me.
"Ok then," I said "Get up and I'll take some photos of you."
So the kangaroo got up and I began snapping away, but the fence obstructed the view so I told the kangaroo to move to the left so I could get a clear shot - and it did!
